About

Matea Radic is a visual artist born in Sarajevo, BiH. She lives and works in Winnipeg, MB.

She works in a variety of mediums including animation, painting and sculpture.

Steeped in dark humour, her work explores themes of war, the ever-shifting landscape of childhood memories and the tender ache for familiarity. She is interested in how linguistic nuances can shape our perceptions and how straddling two culturally diverse worlds can inform our collective humanity.

She has worked on animated music videos with Royal Canoe, Jim Croce and has designed a set for Begonia. She is currently in production on a short animated film, titled Paradajz which is being produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
